How to Serve
As part of our balanced tasty meal choices we have included some hot and cold options, we recommend that you follow this advice for serving guidance.
Serve chilled for best results
We recommend our cold meals are not heated as there are some ingredients which will spoil when heated ruining the flavour, the cold dishes are best served straight from the refrigerator.
Recommended heating instructions for best results
Heat in a microwave for 3 minutes on 900 watt or 3.5 minutes on an 800 watt appliance.
Once piping hot allow to sit for 1 minute and then serve straight to the plate or direct out the Smart Plates container.
Use by dates
As you already know we cook food Sunday for Monday & Tuesday and Tuesday for Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
Our use by date is 3 days from collection, any longer and the food may spoil. Always refrigerate all Smart Plates food as soon as you have collected or received delivery.
Frozen information
We recommend all of our meals are eaten fresh within the best before dates stated on the packaging, on occasion you are able to freeze certain meals which we are clearly marked within meal options.
If you choose to freeze your meal we insist that you freeze on day of collection, to defrost place within fridge or cold area until thoroughly defrosted and follow the standard cooking guidelines, serve piping hot and within 12 hours of defrosting.
Please note spoilage can occur if frozen longer than 5 days.
